Founded in 1978 by Fu-Tung Cheng, Berkeley, California-based Cheng Design began with residential renovations and built a reputation for shifting the paradigm of kitchen design with the innovative use of sculptural concrete. The company has since evolved into a contemporary, full-service custom residential and commercial design firm. And most recently, projects and partnerships have led to the licensed production of commercial product lines.

The Cheng Design team includes architects, designers, craftspeople and fabricators, while professional support staff provides the solid foundation for a vigorous, creative environment and a thriving business.

The team has collaborated with internationally recognized firms such as Sub-Zero/Wolf, Viking, Elica and Zephyr Ventilation in space planning, exhibits, and product design, and Pentagram and Cutler-Anderson in graphics and architecture respectively.
