NATOMA PENTHOUSE
The design-build of this 4,000-plus s.f. San Francisco penthouse began with an architectural shell and focused on creating intimate, human-scale spaces. This home, flanked by floor-to-ceiling clerestory windows on two opposite walls, is a complete study in materials, texture and craftsmanship.
Beautiful cityscape views can be seen just beyond a glass and concrete fireplace at one end of the house and a concrete kitchen island at the other. Large open spaces are capped by a raked-plaster arched ceiling. Details showcase the use of primary materials that define this home—like the double concrete trough sink in the Master Bath, radiant heated floors, and crazed, tempered-glass wall and rubber sink in the Powder Room. Simple materials executed with artistic and technical mastery create a space that is part art gallery—and yet all home.
